Pool area of the project
The goal of the project was to design a sports complex in Baghe-Malek where is located at the foot of Darband mountains in Tehran. Malek’s garden is one of the most famous gardens of Shemiran, with 35 meters height difference from south to north. The complex should consist of different functions to serve the inhabitants of Darband and people who come from outside of the area. The complex located in a wealthy area of Tehran.
The aim was to design a public multi-functional complex in one the historical garden ( related to the Qajar era ) to serve the people in different ways. Since the complex is located in historical Iranian garden, Iranian garden design principles should be considered.
Design process initiated with provide SWOT analysis chart for the site and followed by researches about Iranian gardens and sustainable design principles.
This project went beyond the design development phase and construction documents were required. I took advantage of BIM software Revit and Parametric Tool like Grasshopper to achieve the ideal and optimized result.

This is the text describing the picture
These are the plans of the pool area first and second floor.

The physical model shows the relationship of the project and the site. The structure of the project is mostly spaceframes, concrete shells and buttresses.

The above section shows the entrance building of the project where is located in the center and act as a connection node between different parts of the project ie pool area, multi-functional area and wrestling area. The bottom images are sections through different parts of the project.
Spaceframe structure was used for the spanning all over the sports area. Using spaceframe gives us the opportunity to eliminate the unnecessary columns and end up with large open areas suitable for sports activities. We made this spaceframe through rationalizing process and designing custom nodes which were easy to be made through simple laser cutting process.
Custom nodes were designed and the entire spaceframe was optimized and rationalized in order for the fabrication process.
